Georgia to pay whistleblower $280,000

Auditor general fights bid to end his control over whistleblower hotline

City of Montreal auditor general Jacques Bergeron has reacted "with stupefaction" to the city's bid to remove a whistleblower hotline from his authority. The ethics line was set up in December 2009 to enable city employees and suppliers to tip off the auditor general's office, on a confidential basis, about irregularities in the handling of city business.
